good morning,
Anyone have experience with the sportjet 175?
Im comparing 16' boat with Sportjet 175 carbed GPH vs 22' boat with 454/212 GPH to see if its worth it to me.
So my question is what kind of GPH should i Expect with the 175 sportjet
Im looking at a secondary boat thats 16' with a 175sport jet . Im on the water alot alone so i want a smaller boat that can go skinny and not crush me on fuel, My 454 likes gas ...alot . Ill keep the big boat for family events .
Ideally i would find a 16' windshield boat with a hammy pump and carbed 4cyclinder.

My 200 sport jet isn’t terrible on fuel as long as you don’t run it wide open all over. I’d think a 16’ boat with a 175 would rip. It should do well on fuel considering you wouldn’t have to run it hard to do what you need to with it.

thanks. what would you say you do gallon per hour? Im gonna test both my boats. run them dry add 5 gallons to my big boat then run it dry and do the math. on the small boat Im gonna do the same but with 1 gallon. I picked up a 14' boat with a 50hp yam jet in the mean time till i find the perfect boat. Thank so much. The boat i was talking about i may return to . A Home remodel is beating me up , and just wanna fish the skinny water in the mean time. I will likley sell the 14' this spring and get something more along what i was talking about in my first thread.

Cruising while watching the smart craft gauge I wanna say 6-8gph. I don’t pay much attention to fuel usage. Just put it in when it needs it. If I hit the river today I will record rpm and gph. If not I will be out tomorrow for a bit and will get it then.
